Castello Tizzano

Castello di Tizzano is a historical residence made up of a large complex, consisting of the villa, the tower, a romantic park, the French garden, the outside infinity-edge pool (12×8 m, 1.50 m deep) surrounded by olive groves and a sunbathing. The breathtaking panoramic terrace overlooks the rolling hills of Chianti and the Dome of Florence Cathedral.

The Castle has been the residence of many illustrious Florentine families throughout the centuries, such as Scolari, the family of the famous general Pippo Spano, and the Pitti, before becoming the property of the Medici family. By the mid-1500s, the current main building of Tizzano was rebuilt along the ruins of the ancient castle. In 1585, it was donated by the Grand Duke Francesco de Medici to the well-known sculptor Giambologna, and on his death passed to his pupil Pietro Tacca. The accommodation outside the castle remained unchanged until 1793. During the Napoleonic era, the castle
was bought by Prince Talleyrand, until the second half of the 1800s when it was purchased by Count Roberto Pandolfini and his wife Beatrice dei Principi Corsini. Since then, the Villa has been still owned by the Counts Pandolfini. In 1999, Elizabeth Pandolfini inherited the ownership of the castle from her father and began a long work of restoration in order to bring the structure back to its former glory.

The villa is suitable for people with handicaps

The villa presents several ancient and precious common room areas, such as the Hall of Arms, the kitchen on the ground floor of the tower, and the elegant living room, designed with the greatest care, in harmony with the traditions and taste of Tuscan houses.

Villa il Mulino

Villa Mulino is located in Sambuca Val di Pesa, a small village suspended between Siena and Florence along the course of the Pesa River, a small tributary of the Arno that is worth exploring on foot.

After crossing the ancient Romagliano bridge, dating back to the twelfth century, turn right and take the pedestrian path that runs alongside the Pesa River. Continue along the Abate Road, which becomes unpaved and rich in vegetation as you venture into the forest, surrounded by the scents and clear waters of the Pesa. Along the way, there are traces and testimonies that evoke the history of the Saint to whom the path is dedicated, one of which is the chapel near the Mill.

What makes the position where the Mulino is located even more unique is its proximity to the Antinori Winery, an architectural masterpiece that has earned first place in the World’s Best Vineyards 2022 ranking as the ‘Most Beautiful Winery in the World’.

Villa Mulino following a meticulous restoration work, consists of a central building and two barns (“Il Rosmarino” and “Il Leccio”) surrounded by lush and colorful vegetation, filled with fragrances, and sounds that make it a truly unique place to connect with nature. The rustling of leaves blends with the sound of the Pesa River like a lullaby that soothes and refreshes.

The pool (15x7mt – 1.60mt deep) is surrounded by lush vegetation, the scent of cypresses, the sound of the river nearby, and the Tuscan hills serve as a background, creating a magical and relaxing atmosphere.

The verandas are located on the back part of the villa where the channels are still present, where water flowed to the blades of the mill for grinding wheat. These lodges are also accompanied by a round table around an ancient olive tree where a wood-fired oven and a relaxation area are situated.

The riverside beach is a true oasis where you can reconcile with nature and let yourself be lulled by the sound of flowing water and the rustle of leaves that surround it. It can be accessed directly from the villa and features a relaxation area, dining table, and sun loungers.

Antico Palazzo Croce

Antico Palazzo Croce is located in an excellent position to enjoy the beauty of Positano and the services that the “pearl of the coast” offers.
It is located near the center (reachable on foot in about 10 minutes) while at the same time, far from the tourist frenzy.

The beautiful baroque palace is laid out in the classic 17th century scheme over four floors. A central staircase descends from the “noble” entry floor level, to the Relax area (level -1) or up to the suites and rooms of the upper floors (levels 1 and 2).

The front facade overlooks panoramic terraces and balconies.
Two side wings complete the terrace on the main floor giving the building a C-shape projected towards the sea that ensures maximum privacy.

The Palace has no driveway but can be reached with 190 steps uphill.
By purchasing the “Il San Pietro” package, you can arrive or depart from the hotel’s private dock.

The date 1716 is carved in stone at the entrance to the Antico Palazzo Croce, the year in which the palace became a bishop’s residence. Its foundation dates further back to the second half of the 17th century and the original project perfectly took into account the aesthetic canons of the time, inside as well as outside.

Its history as a religious residence is evoked in the spiritualized style of the structure and furnishings, as well as numerous detailed paintings of the battle of Lepanto, pride of the Holy League).
The precious interiors (rich in stuccos, vaults, marble, lacquered doors and other ornaments) and above all the elegant façade overlooking Positano with statues, loggia and panoramic terraces and balconies are reminiscent of the Baroque style of that era.

Today, these characteristics give it a strong and distinguishing character in the town, as does its striking Pompeii red colour, greatly in vogue in the 18th century.
