Location Description
The villa is a short walk from the heart of Scala, a medieval hilltop village with coffee bars, restaurants, open-air cafes, a grocery shop and the stop for the SITA bus that goes from Scala to Ravello, Amalfi and other coastal destinations. The oldest town on the Amalfi Coast, Scala runs along Dragon Valley, right above Amalfi and adjacent to Ravello. The walking routes to Scala and Ravello are shared with cars but can still be navigated on foot.
From the quay of Amalfi, there are ferries and hydrofoils to the other villages along the coast as well as to the Islands of Capri and Ischia, and to Sorrento and Naples. Boats rentals are available for those who wish to explore the surrounding coastline, and visit the many small grottoes.
Please Note: While the Amalfi Coast is beautiful and charming, it is also steep, with many uphill and downhill stairs and walkways. In general, it is an area that is not kind to those of us with knee or mobility issues. This should be considered before booking a property in this area

Centuries-old stairways lead 100 steps down to the villa from the street level. The terrace (200 m2) and gardens (4000 m2) offer breathtaking views of Ravello and the Amalfi Coast. The garden is shaded by a stone porch that is furnished with two couches, a coffee table and several armchairs. The terrace is equipped with two shaded dining areas with tables for 4, sun umbrellas, lounge chairs, stone oven, barbecue and a refrigerator. There is a swimming pool (5 m. x 10 m. long, 2.5 m. deep., open May through September) surrounded by 7 sun loungers and an external shower. The swimming pool is not heated. There is also a laundry room with a washing machine and ironing facilities. A car is recommended. Parking can be found along public roads, or we can pre- book a parking space in a private car park at the extra cost of Euro 20,00 per day.Interior Description (230 m2)
Each floor of the villa can be reached either by external stairs or by an internal spiral staircase.
Ground Floor: There is a large living room with air conditioning and heating, two sofas, two armchairs, a working wood fireplace, satellite TV and a CD player. The room includes a dining area with a dining table that seats 6 and expands to fit 18. From the living room, two French doors lead to the garden and the main terrace. The kitchen, which has air conditioning and heating, is equipped with a four hobs gas cooker, electric oven, large refrigerator with freezer, dishwasher, microwave, American-style coffee maker and electric kettle. From the kitchen, another set of French doors leads to the main terrace.
First Floor: A wooden staircase with 9 steps leads to the first floor, which has two bedrooms. Each bedroom has an air conditioning/heating unit, a queen-size bed (160 cm) and an ensuite bathroom with a fully enclosed shower, basin, toilet and hairdryer.
Second Floor: A spiral staircase with 14 steps leads to the second floor. There are two bedrooms, each with an air conditioning/heating unit, a queen-size bed (160 cm) and an en-suite bathroom each with a fully enclosed shower, basin, toilet and hairdryer.
Annex: The annex is accessed from the main terrace, along an exterior staircase with 15 steps. It has one bedroom with an air conditioning/heating unit, a standard double bed (140cm) that is comfortable for one and cozy for two, a single sofa bed and ensuite bathroom with fully enclosed shower, basin, toilet and hairdryer.

Housekeeping is provided 4 times a week, 02 hours per day for a total of 08 weekly hours.
Additional Housekeeping can be arranged for an additional fee.

Beautiful. The pictures in the listing are amazing but they don’t fully capture how nice the property really is. Particularly the views, which are wide, varied and stunning. Enough space to have guests for dinner. The property host will prepare delicious dinners of the local cuisine, just amazing! Great walks directly from the property. The service at the property, both beforehand and during our visit was perfect.
The only caveat, is the walk from the closest car access point to the villa itself which is 100 stair steps or the equivalent of 7 residential stories. For me, out of shape, middle-aged, it was fine. But for older guests or guests with mobility issues, it could pose a problem.
I couldn’t recommend this rental more highly.
