Sarteano is only 6 kilometers from the A1 Chiusi-Chianciano Terme motorway exit, and therefore is really convenient to reach from all cities in Tuscany. Once you have exited the motorway, it is in fact sufficient to take the provincial road SP478 towards the south, and in less than 10 minutes you will arrive at your destination. The proximity to the motorway means that Sarteano is never too far from the main cities of Tuscany. From Florence it takes an hour and 20 minutes, from Arezzo 50 minutes, from Pisa and Livorno 2 hours and 15 minutes, while from the provincial capital Siena it takes an hour.
